A Brief History of Cadillac's Conception
Do you think Henry M. Leland, Lemuel Bowen, and William Murphy could have fathomed the depth of their legacy when they established the Cadillac Automobile Company on August 22, 1902? Do you think they could have imagined how much their company could have grown? Do you think they understood what their idea would become today? Although we will never know for sure, we will always know one thing: Cadillac's beginnings are not as far of a stretch from how they look today.
Like a phoenix, Cadillac rose from the ashes of none other than the Henry Ford Company. Financial backers Bowen and Murphy initially chose engineer Leland to help the liquidation of the company; however, Leland took this opportunity to pitch his idea of a vehicle single-cylinder engine successfully. Leland's courage had a lasting impact as these three men became the founders of the Cadillac.
The Luxurious Roots of Cadillac's
Today, the first car brand that comes to mind when you hear "luxury" is, without a doubt, Cadillac. This holds throughout history, even as early as Cadillac's conception. In 1910, only eight years after the company was established, Cadillac had already received one of what would be many Dewar Trophies and became the first car company to offer a passenger car with a fully enclosed cabin. Cadillac was the first American car company to win this prestigious award from the Royal Automobile Club of England!
Over the years, Cadillac's priority of luxury and customer satisfaction only became more prominent to the mainstream eye. Whether that be because it was the first production car to feature an electronic self-starter, ignition, and lightning or because of its extensive color options in a time when customization was unfathomable, Cadillac was consistently ahead of the curve.
Cadillac, the Number One Choice Car for Celebrities
As the years progressed, Cadillac's role in the public eye only became more fascinating. In the 1950s, Cadillac became the car of choice for iconic celebrities, like Elvis Presley. Cadillac's were the car of choice during the fifties, so much so that even President Eisenhower had one! What does this mean for the company, though? Simple, Cadillac not only became synonymous with luxury but status. Prominence. Character. A Cadillac became more than a car. It became an extension of one's identity.
Cadillac's Role in Twenty-First Century Society
Cadillac has had more than a century to improve, and it has genuinely outperformed, outranked, and succeeded any and everyone's expectations. A multi-billion dollar company, Cadillac, is a household name. No longer competing with a horse and carriage, Cadillac's technology has advanced to meet the growing needs of the average American. Now equipped with a 4G LTE HotSpot, a Wireless Device Charger, and a Bose Premium entertainment system, Cadillac is truly the frontrunner of innovation and comfort in luxury vehicles.
A look into Cadillac's past makes it more than evident that they were looking ahead towards the future. A look at Cadillac's present makes it clear that this priority has not changed. Whether you're looking at the capability of the 2019 Cadillac SUV & ESV to comfortably seat eight people or the innovations of the 2019 CT6 Sedan that allows the world's first true hands-free driving via the Super Cruise, Cadillac is always exceeding the ever-growing expectations of society. History seems to repeat itself as Cadillac not only exceeds present expectations but future expectations, as well.
