Charging at home

EV charging is as easy as plugging in any other device.






Most EV owners charge at home - one of the most convenient EV benefits. No more trips to the gas station. Cadillac EVs can recharge using the included dual-level (Level I and Level 2) charging cord without additional equipment. Easily switch between Level 1 and Level 2* charging depending on your use of a three- or four-pronged plug.

You can charge at home while you work, watch a movie, eat or sleep. EV charging sessions need no input, and there are home charging stations that have settings allowing you to set a routine for off-peak hours that ensure your recharge during the least inexpensive times of the day. You can check the charging status, set a schedule, or simply plug in and let it do its thing.

Using Public Charging Stations

Public charging stations are available along major highways and in busy shopping or commercial areas.



EVs can also charge at public charging stations, where you pay per kilowatt-hour and let the vehicle charge while you shop or spend the day at work. Depending on the charging speeds, you can regain significant range and handle all your daily driving needs.

There are many different providers - some require users to download their apps for convenient payment and charging options. Currently, new Cadillac owners or lessees can receive 2 years of complimentary unlimited charging with EVgo.

Drivers can also now purchase a GM-approved North American Charging Standard (NACS) DC adapter through the myCadillac mobile app.

Level 2 AC Chargers

  • Often available at select stores, restaurants, parking garages and hotels
  • 6 kW-19.2 kW* power output
  • About 12** to 55*** miles of range per hour of charge


* From infrastructure data, generally these stations are 6 kW or higher power, maximum allowed is 19.2 kW.
** 12 miles of range per hour is based on Cadillac ESCALADE IQ charging at 6 kW.
*** 55 miles of range per hour is based on Cadillac OPTIQ charging at 19.2 kW.

DC Fast Chargers

  • Often available at certain commercial and public locations
  • 50 kW-350 kW* power output
  • About 15** to 110*** miles of range in about 10 minutes of charge


* From infrastructure data, generally DC stations will be 50 kW or higher, up to 350 kW.
** 15 miles of range added in 10 minutes assumes a Cadillac ESCALADE IQ charging at a 50 kW station.
*** 110 miles of range added in 10 minutes is based on a Cadillac ESCALADE IQ charging at a 350 kW station.

How to Easily Find a Public Charging Station

There are several ways to find a public EV charging station nearby: Use your favorite navigation app on your smartphone to look up locations, download the MyCadillac App, or use the in-vehicle navigation app to find locations and receive turn-by-turn directions.
