If a car manufacturer finds a potential defect in a particular model, especially in safety matters, the manufacturer may issue a recall. Therefore, a recall means that the manufacturer repairs the part of your vehicle with potential safety risks or replaces the entire part of the vehicle. Moreover, the manufacturer may also refund you for your car if it is named in a recall.

When several complaints arise about a similar component in a particular vehicle model, it prompts immediate action to protect lives. In addition, if an automobile’s equipment does not meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety standards, it becomes necessary to issue a recall. Often, parts that affect driver and passenger safety are required to meet a minimum performance standard. They include tires, brakes, headlights, and safety features such as seat belts, airbags, steering columns, and car seats.
