Could the Cadillac Escalade-V Be Coming Soon? We Think So!

The Cadillac Escalade was introduced in 1998 to compete with the then-new Lincoln Navigator. Starting out as not much more than a rebranded Chevrolet, General Motors (GM) has since made the Escalade one of the most popular large SUVs on the market. The Escalade combines luxury and practicality in bold and beautiful ways, with technology that makes your drive a breeze and comfort that makes you want to stay in the vehicle. The Cadillac Escalade-V, the fifth-generation, has a styling that is "unmistakably Cadillac", according to J.D. Power. With excellent reviews on comfort, safety, power, and styling, it's no wonder that the Cadillac Escalade has been a top seller. Cadillac even has plans to introduce an electric version by 2025.

But maybe there's more coming. Consumers have been asking for a luxury performance SUV, and the Cadillac Escalade may be about to deliver.

What Is the V-Series?

Cadillac's V-series combines luxury and performance in a way that other manufacturers haven't been able to match. Cadillac touches on everything from styling to driver performance analysis in their V-series line. With a turbocharged 6.2litre V-8 engine and a limited-slip differential  - a system that automatically directs power to the rear wheel with the best traction - Cadillac's V-series is exciting and breathtaking. It's a track-ready road warrior, and consumers want more options. They want the Escalade-V.

What Would the Cadillac Escalade-V Look Like?

Car and Driver spotted what might be next for the Escalade: a V-series upgrade. The Escalade already comes standard with a non-turbocharged 6.2litre V-8, which is a powerful engine in its own right. The Escalade, though, isn't the powerful beast that, for example, the 2022 CT5-V Blackwing is. What we know of the CT5-V Blackwing can give us some insight into what an Escalade-V might look like. The standard turbocharged engine is just the beginning. Indeed, the V-series boasts stability and handling that will make you want to keep driving it. Additionally, there is an integrated performance data recorder that will give you feedback on driver performance. Add in bold V-series exclusive styling accents and Cadillac's luxury interior and an Escalade-V will be very high on your must-drive list.

Why Do We Think This Could Be the Cadillac Escalade-V?

Small hints add up! That quad-exhaust that Car and Driver spotted is exclusive to the V-series, specifically in common with the CT5-V Blackwing. In addition, CarBuzz reports that Cadillac executives have fielded questions from dealerships around the country about an Escalade-V, and said that "we are...looking at opportunities." Consumers have asked for a V-series Escalade for a decade, according to CarBuzz, and they may well soon have it. Car and Driver points out that the camouflaged Escalade that they spotted was testing against Chevrolet's soon-to-be-released C8 Corvette Z06. It will be a track-ready performance car capable of more than 600 horsepower. A V-series Escalade could absolutely keep up with that. With the demand for high-end luxury performance and these clues, we absolutely believe that we will be graced with a Cadillac Escalade V-series in the near future.
