You know those long drives on the road where there’s little to no other vehicles around? The driving seems easy and you want to get comfortable. So, you set your car for cruise control.

Sometimes you even wish you could take your hands off the wheel. But that’s just wishful thinking... or is it?

Experience the future of driving with Super Cruise. It’s the world’s first true hands-free driving assistance feature and it’s available in select Cadillac vehicles. Super Cruise combines advanced technologies that provide ease and convenience when commuting on compatible highways.

Cadillac’s President, Steve Carlisle, boasts, “groundbreaking technologies like these continue to provide unparalleled comfort and convenience to our customers.”

This cutting-edge technology isn’t offered with any other automotive brand, so allow us to brag. We’ll let you know what exactly is Super Cruise, how this smart tech works, and how you can test out the feature for yourself.

What is Super Cruise?

Super Cruise is the future of driving. With smart features like adaptive cruise control, LiDar map data, radar senses, and lane-keeping, Super Cruise can accelerate, brake, and steer without you having to touch the steering wheel or the brakes.

You may have heard of or even experienced the auto-pilot and cruise control technologies in other vehicles, but they don’t compare to Cadillac’s Super Cruise. That’s because of Cadillac’s renowned Driver Attention System.

It monitors drivers’ face and emotional state to determine drowsiness, and then sends out one or several alerts. This allows you to keep your hands off the steering wheel, as long as your eyes are focused straight ahead.

If your attention is elsewhere (for approximately five seconds), warnings will begin. The alerts include the steering wheel light bar flashing green, then red, and even a voice prompt to regather your attention.

How Does Super Cruise Work?

To use Super Cruise, you must have an active OnStar plan, Wi-Fi Hotspot, cell phone reception, GPS signal, and working electrical system. Once you have what’s needed, using Super Cruise is easy.

First, make sure Adaptive Cruise Control is on. When it’s activated, the symbol will turn green and the speed will show. Once you’re detected to be on a compatible highway and driving conditions are met, the symbol will illuminate in white. Lastly, press the Super Cruise button and wait for the symbol and steering wheel light bar to turn green. Once the bar light (on the steering wheel) is green, Super Cruise has started, and you can remove your hands.

Super Cruise is Compatible with 200,000 miles of highways

Super Cruise is now compatible with 200,000 miles of e highways, stretching as far as Canada. You can check this map to see if a highway near you is compatible with the feature.
