There's a buzz in the air around the dealership. The topic around the showroom floor is the talk of the new 2020 XT6, slated for release this Spring.
A lot of consumers and dealers felt that there was a bit of a gap between the XT5 and the Escalade. The 2020 XT6 was designed to fit squarely into that gap! The new XT6 is the three-row luxury crossover for those who want the legendary styling and smooth ride of a Cadillac, but want something smaller than the Escalade. "Escalade is an aspirational vehicle but is too large for much of the world," said Andrew Smith, executive director of Global Cadillac.
With 310 horsepower coming from a 3.6 liter V6 engine, your six (or seven) passengers will be riding in style with plenty of power under the hood. It's got most of the bells and whistles you'd expect from what you'd find in the Escalade, including start/stop engine, nine-speed automatic transmission, heated and cooled front seats, and heated seats for the second row.
The XT6 was designed and built in Detroit, at the new headquarters for Cadillac, instead of New York. The designers in the motor city focused on a roomy, spacious interior, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. The second row drops and slides away if necessary to make room for large cargo. Speaking of big, the sound system is no joke either, with an eight-speaker Bose or a fourteen-speaker Bose system sure to wake the neighbors. You've also got standard parking assist, lane departure warning and steering assist too.
So what about trim levels? There are two during launch, Sport and Premium Luxury, with the most significant differences being that Sport has a black mesh grille and black trim while the Luxury trim has more chrome and bright spots. The packages come standard with 20-inch wheels but can be swapped out for 21-inch wheels on the Sport package.
By the way, if you've been wondering what the XT and CT naming conventions mean, here's a quick guide:
All sedans, coupes, and wagons as CT followed by a number designating its order in the lineup.
All crossovers and SUVs as XT followed by a number designating its order in the lineup.
You'll be able to stop by our showroom and test drive the new 2020 XT6 soon and let Sarasota Cadillac remind you of the Sarasota difference: the more you seek out excellence, the more you belong at Sunset Cadillac of Sarasota!
